Well, we had quite some magnificent rain recently & it was the kind that I like. Not that piddly misty stuff....no...it was some great buckets or torrential rain with wind gusts knocking trees & signs down. That is the kind of rain I like. It was wonderful...but one caveat is that I ended up with bronchitis. Thankfully it is pretty much gone & now I am just left with the remnants of a cold which I am determined will be gone by Sunday at 5:36 pm. No particular reason for that time, just the time I say it will be all gone.
I go in phases between mountain highs and valley lows. I get excited about the future & then turn around in the next moment feeling a bit desolate about it. I do know that it will all be ok & that when I feel down in the valley that it is only temporary. I am blessed beyond measure & I know this. There are so many in this world who have less, are loved less, & who feel that there is no hope. I know there is hope and I know that I will be fine...I just need to keep my face to the sun in the daylight & to the stars at night.
I wish all blessings & happiness.

New Experiences and Tears
First let me say that I have NOT done a very good job of blogging daily. I failed that resolution! What have I been doing with my time? Well, I have tried Bikram's Yoga & if you are not familiar with that, it is a form of yoga which consists of 26 poses and two breathing exercises performed in a room which has been heated to a nice warm 105 degrees. The first class I took, I was dizzy, nauseous and had to lie down a few times. The second class was much better as I was able to do most of the poses...not perfectly but I was able to do them and only had to lie down once. I plan on going back when I get some more money.
I have been volunteering with a non profit to provide massage to those less fortunate and it has been quite rewarding. Last night I volunteered at an event called Sight & Sound which was really about local music and art work. It was really a good time and there was good response from the attendees. I have not been massaging much and have never really done chair massage, but everyone gave very good feedback. It let's me know that I can be successful in doing this.
We are expecting quite a bit of rain over the next few days...normally I don't like it but I am somewhat looking forward to the deluge.
The only other thing that I have been doing is crying. The destruction, devastation & desperation in Haiti has been on my mind and my heart. I have shed tears everyday for the loss of life. It is catastrophic and I feel that the little I was able to donate is still too little. At the same time, I am a bit irritated at some of the stars who have MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars, yet only donate $250,000?! That is what Madonna donated. I understand they have charities that they deal with on a regular basis, but remember they get tax breaks. I just think that I if I had MILLIONS, I would donate more than $250,000. I mean I KNOW she spends more than that in a few months on couture and designer clothing. It just irritates me. I digress, at least she did something.
Please remember to show compassion to those around you and take the time to volunteer for those less fortunate. Make it a part of your life.

Here's mud in your eye....
I took time to pamper myself today. Glen Ivy Spa is located about 87 miles north of San Diego and during the entire month of Jan. they are offering a special price of $18.60 on Wednesdays only. I had to take advantage of the deal! Normally the price is $38 during the weekdays and $48 on the weekends.
First I took a dip into the super smelly sulphur springs....smells like rotten eggs but is really good for you! Then I swam a few laps in the lap pool, I sweated in the steam room...I mean alot! I decided to lay out in the sun for a bit and then very happily took a mud bath. I did not take many pictures and right now I am so beyond relaxed that I just want to lay in bed and catch as many z's as possible. Hmmm...might have to try this next week too!

Simple
Today was a nice and simple day. I slept in until about 7:30 and then really took my time getting up and out of the house. I went to the gym and had a very nice workout...I was actually quite proud of myself!
When I reached home, I realized that I really needed to get on the ball about making some jewelry. I sat down to the task at hand and created a few pieces to take to a local boutique.

After I did that, I finally took a moment to eat...can you say super yummy & tasty portobello mushroom on a bun?! It was superb and a great substitute for meat. I just wish they were not so expensive. I have also decided to try meditation. There is a free class offered up the street at the Sri Chimnoy center. They recommend coming to the class for about 6 weeks to get enough practice. I actually enjoyed it and was surprised that they were not trying to force Sris' philosophy upon me. I will definitely be going back next Tuesday. So today was a simple and yet fulfilling day!
The Matrix
Yesterday was a Matrix Day for me.
A day that happened but does not really seem to have transpired.

Markets, Beaches, and Casinos
I have had a wonderful weekend! Yesterday after my lil walk I got dressed and went out to the Vista Farmers Market and purchased some yummy beansprouts. I also took the chance to see if I can possibly sell some of my jewelry there..the possibility is slim, but it does exist!
From there I went out to Fletcher Cove Park in Solana Beach to see the waves. The weather has been just unbelievably beautiful and warm. The tide was very high so I could not take a walk on the beach and I was not about to jump into the water like these brave souls!
From there I took a little journey and sat down to have a very yummy acai smoothie while sharing my space with this very kind soul...
After my refreshing drink I sauntered on down to this little shop that I have always wanted to visit...it is a nice eclectic shop that is all about whimsy and the beach...
I then decided to venture towards my car and saw this wonderfully voluptous woman playing tennis..naked!
And I think these guys were checking her out on the sly....
I guess maybe they were not too impressed with her serve?
So my saturday was truly a lovely day!
Now for my sunday...wow, so I got up and went for a nice little walk...still keeping the biggest loser in my head to keep me movtivated. Afterwards my friend Ghia and I went to Viejas casino. Oh..I forgot to add that I DID indeed take a shower first! Anyways, my friend had some free money courtesy of the casino so we went and she won on the first machine she played on! So after she played a bit we went to the buffett...mmmmhmmm gluttony is definitely a sin! We went ahead and played some more then said what the heck, let's go to Barona casino as well. I liked Barona because it was a little less smoky AND I actually got to play for 2 1/2 hours on the same machine. I did not walk out a winner, but I was a winner because I had an awesome day with one of my best friends and as we left the sun was starting to set and the sky was ablaze in the most beautiful colors. It was a GREAT weekend!

It's a new dawn, a new day, a new year, a new decade!
Wow,
So 2009 is over with...quite a bit occured during 09, some of it good and some of it not so good. I suppose it is not a good idea to ponder over all of the events too much as it is not a good idea to dwell in the past. I will take my lessons into this year and do my best to make it a much better year!
I am going to try to blog every day or at least every other day. The first day of this year was spent somewhat lazily. I DID get up and go walking with my friend Ghia, but then proceeded to come home, freshen up and then spent the entire day in front of the dummy box and watched America's Biggest Loser marathon. It was certainly an indulgence of reality tv. Those people do inspire though! I have actually been trying to do a boot camp style workout and let's just say that parts of my body hurt that just don't make sense! I shall persevere though and keep going.
Everyone has resolutions and I have mine as well. I did go to the beach on NYE after some super yummy sushi with Ghia. I asked Yemaya for quite a few things to manifest in my life this year. It will come to pass and I know that I have to actively put forth some effort as well. We can't expect to have everything handed to us on a silver platter; although it can happen!
I will be back to write more later or tomorrow. For now, I must be a biggest loser and go out into the sunshine for some exercise and adventures.
