First let me say that I have NOT done a very good job of blogging daily. I failed that resolution! What have I been doing with my time? Well, I have tried Bikram's Yoga & if you are not familiar with that, it is a form of yoga which consists of 26 poses and two breathing exercises performed in a room which has been heated to a nice warm 105 degrees. The first class I took, I was dizzy, nauseous and had to lie down a few times. The second class was much better as I was able to do most of the poses...not perfectly but I was able to do them and only had to lie down once. I plan on going back when I get some more money.
I have been volunteering with a non profit to provide massage to those less fortunate and it has been quite rewarding. Last night I volunteered at an event called Sight & Sound which was really about local music and art work. It was really a good time and there was good response from the attendees. I have not been massaging much and have never really done chair massage, but everyone gave very good feedback. It let's me know that I can be successful in doing this.
We are expecting quite a bit of rain over the next few days...normally I don't like it but I am somewhat looking forward to the deluge.
The only other thing that I have been doing is crying. The destruction, devastation & desperation in Haiti has been on my mind and my heart. I have shed tears everyday for the loss of life. It is catastrophic and I feel that the little I was able to donate is still too little. At the same time, I am a bit irritated at some of the stars who have MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars, yet only donate $250,000?! That is what Madonna donated. I understand they have charities that they deal with on a regular basis, but remember they get tax breaks. I just think that I if I had MILLIONS, I would donate more than $250,000. I mean I KNOW she spends more than that in a few months on couture and designer clothing. It just irritates me. I digress, at least she did something.
Please remember to show compassion to those around you and take the time to volunteer for those less fortunate. Make it a part of your life.
